Tim Hahn

The drummer Tim Hahn, a Grammy nominee and winner of two “Echo Klassik” awards, had his first drum lesson at the Conservatory of Cottbus at the age of nine. With already 16 years he had been provided with a scholarship for outstanding students by Dresden's music academy “Carl Maria von Weber” studying percussion. In 1994, Hahn continued his studies abroad at the Rotterdam Conservatorium.

During his years of study Tim Hahn founded the successful rock band MERQURY;thus his professional career started already with 19 years. Within this band he was able to demonstrate his own skills and the potential of his instrument.

Moreover, he has attended numerous internationally renowned master classes, amongst them the Drummers Collective in New York and the Musician's Institute in Los Angeles. He founded the European Jazz Collective. Due to his musical versatility, he is a sought-after live and studio drummer.

During his career he has performed with musical luminaries such as Lou Bega, Andrea Bocelli, Jose Carreras, as well as Edson Cordeiro, Till Brönner, and the hr-Bigband. Since 2000 he has regular performances with the “Klazz Brothers” and has successfully realized his project of Cuba Nova.
